The mission of the Pew Fellows Program in Marine Conservation is to promote, protect, and preserve the marine environment. This has been accomplished by providing fellowships to outstanding individuals from around the world who are exemplary leaders and active problem-solvers supporting healthy ocean ecosystems.

Recipients are chosen from diverse disciplines addressing the ocean realm. The program has supported academic-based researchers and independent scientists, non-profit conservation professionals, environmental attorneys, economists, policy makers, environmental advocates, journalists, photographers, and others working on a wide variety of marine issues.
